Advertisers say NO to Duggar-TV

"TLC is learning the hard way that no matter how the network spins it, America is done with the Duggars, and so are all of the companies that they sell advertisement spaces to. Over 15 companies freaked out and pulled their ads from the show’s timeslot after their commercials aired during ‘Counting On,’ according to a report from In Touch Weekly. It doesn’t matter what the show’s ratings look like if no company will pay to have their commercials aired during the show. No one wants their products associated with the Duggar Family. At this point, TLC literally can’t give away ad time during ‘Counting On.’"

Duggars Considering Adoption

Everybody has asked a long time why don't the Duggars adopt? Visiting the orphanages in China opened them up to the possibility. But is it a good idea for them to adopt? The Duggars already have 19 kids. While it is an honorable gesture, adoption isn't cut and dry like some people think. Adoption requires waiting, money, and other adjustments. Foreign countries have gotten tougher on International adoptions.

Adopted children need time to adjust and often special interaction. The Duggars spend a lot of time traveling and they have a show which would be a negative. I don't think they would be prepared to deal with special needs children let alone a foreign child used to different customs. From what I read, China restricts adoption to families with 5 kids or less so that is out of the question. There are plenty of kids in the United states but it is my opinion no US agency would likely let them adopt. Some states require the adopted child be 2-3 years younger or older than the bio kids and in some cases, require one parent to stay at home with the child for six months.

Would it be fair to infertile couples or smaller families? So many couples can’t have children or just have one. Maybe the Duggars can help make it easier for infertile couples and small families to adopt. I really can’t see them qualifying. I hope they aren’t considering this for ratings. Michelle claim the kids are pushing them toward it. If they do, I hope they adopt for the right reasons and not because of pressure or publicity.

Josh Duggar and the Family Research Council

Josh Duggar's recent employment by the Family research Council has caused quite a stir. He and the family are planning to move to Washington D.C. GLAAD, an activist group for gay rights, is calling for a boycott of the show as a result. FRC is labeled a hate group because of the views they hold on certain issues. let's take a look at who the Family Research Council is.

The FRC is an American conservative group founded by James Dobson who lobby against gay marriage , gay adoption, divorce, pornography, and all adult products. Since being founded 1983, it main goal is to promote conservative Christian values and make them the standard.

Some of the values they espouse are abstinence only education, defunding of family planning services, filtration of public Internet, right to discriminate based on sexuality, prayer in schools, defunding stem cell research, and vouchers for private schools.

They have been labeled a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center for their stances on gay marriage. Is it really right to label them a hate group? A gunman walked in their Washington D.C. headquarters and shot a guard in the arm. The gunman was a former LGBT activist.

I don't agree with the FRC views just as much as the Duggars, but hate obviously doesn't apply one way. And to attack Josh for a career decision and calling for the boycott of the show is overstepping it a bit.

Why is it OK to boycott something Christian, but not the other way around? What if Josh had joined an anti-Muslim group? Would it be the same reaction? I honestly can’t support either side here.

Duggars do Burgers

When the Duggars were in New York for the Today Show, they stopped by Bill's Bar and Burgers in New York City.Thye chowed down on burgers,f ries milk shakes, and onion rings. Guess what teh total bill was? $614. Milk Shakes cost a whopping $6 and the burgers cost $7.95, fries $4,and sodas $2. That total averages $25-$30 per person

SOme of the kids were eligible for the kid's menu or else the bill would be much higher. I suppose TLC chipped in here. Is it me or does Bill's Bar and Burgers sound like a place the DUggars would go?

The clan also dropped by on the Dr.Oz show this passed week to tell us how they operate daily and save on expenses(Again,we are sure TLC income helps) They gave recipes for wet baby wipes, laundry soap, pickles, and popcorn and other healthy secrets. The Dr.Oz show is broadcast in  118 countries and on its 4th season. Dr. Mehmet Oz has authored 400 books and helped co-write best sellers which inlcude "You : The owner's Manual" and served as a professional health advisor for Oprah Winfrey. You can get the recipes from duggarfamily.com.
